Community Report: Suspicious Person in Newcastle, Washington

Suspicious Person reported through the CWT Suspicious Activity Reporting line. Incident date: 2026-09-05 around 09:30. Reported location: Various locations on campus, Newcastle, Washington. A safety team director reported that an adult male arrived on campus at approximately 08:30, before the director was on site. By other congregants' accounts, the male entered the fellowship hall while a group was praying, moved through the rooms of the building, and recorded video of the interior and exterior. He entered the sanctuary when it was opened at approximately 09:00 for worship team practice and recorded there as well. The director later observed him in conversation with an elderly congregant outside the sanctuary, asked him to change the subject of that conversation, and the male complied and then left the property on foot. The male was described as a Black male in his late twenties, approximately six feet five inches tall, wearing an ankle length thobe, traveling on foot with no vehicle observed. He was not asked to leave and no trespass advisement was issued. The reporting organization records no similar prior activity at this location. Law enforcement was contacted and the Newcastle, Washington police department accepted an online report. Reporter assessed confidence as high and observed part of the activity first-hand.
